Instructor Alison LaFond

Certified to Teach Age 4 - Adult

Alison was asked by Founder, Mary Schuler, to take over her established Phonics and Math business and carry on the family legacy.

Alison has worked as a substitute teacher in Manchester, CT schools, while raising three children.

Upon moving to NH, she worked for SAU16 as a substitute, working at Exeter Elementary, Stratham CMS and Stratham Elementary.

Alison was a natural fit for taking on the role Mary was searching for.

Professional

Alison graduated in 1983 from Bay Path University, Longmeadow, MA

She worked for The Travelers Insurance Company as Executive Secretary.. and Claims Analyst for the National Accounts Group.

Alison wrote a proposal to work from home after her first born was diagnosed with a health issue, which was approved, and she worked full time for 6 years in this capacity.  She was the first person to do this at The Travelers!

Phonics Training

Upon agreeing to Take Over Schuler Phonics, Mary required Alison to learn her methods!

Daily Zoom calls, totaling approximately 100 hours, occurred starting in March, until mid-June.

Daily homework was given and Mary took Alison through all the textbooks and storybooks, page by page.  Mary awarded Alison three Certificates for completing her courses in Phonics: Primer, Core and Mastery, Basic Math and Fractions.

”I have tremendous respect for the lifework Mary has put into this program, and am honored to be selected to carry on her works,” Alison LaFond
